DESCRIPTION- WHAT IS PRANAYAM?

The word Pranayam   is derived from Sanskrit word which means breathing air as power of life. Pranayam is a systematic breathing activities in which inhalation,breath ( Purak , Rechak  and Kumbhak) are controlled. There are various types of   Pranayam based on this process of inhalation, exhalation and holding like breath. Pranayam develop a lot of inner strength and cure many chronic health problems.

HERE ARE SOME PRANAYAM WHICH IS BENEFICAL FOR HEALTH AND FITNESS-

ANULOM- VILOM PRANAYM-   It is simple inhalation from nose to and long inhalation from mouth. It  cures cough, cold, asthama ,headache, reduces stress, relieves breathlessness, regulates temperature, helps meditation.

SURYA-BHEDAN PRANAYAM- It is process of long inhalation from right nostril, stop it for sometimes and then exhale from right nostril and vice-versa. It cures cough, cold, asthama, headache, reduces stress, relieves breathlessness, regulates body temperature, helps in meditation.

UJAYII PRANAYAM- In this Pranayam, the frictional sound with vibrations is produced from the throat while exhaling from mouth. It cures throat, cough, helps in meditation, reduces stress, gives soothing effect over mind.

SITALI PRANAYAM- It is forceful inhalation from mouth with tongue. The tongue is shaped like ‘0’ in between lips. It provides a cold feeling to body. It cures dry cough, asthama and regulates the body temperature.

SITKARI PRANAYAM-  It is forceful inhalation from mouth while lips are opened wide whereas teeth are closed. It gives soothing and cold feeling. It cures dry cough, asthama and regulates the body temperature during summer.

BHRAMARI PRANAYAM- In this Pranayam, the exhalation produces the vibrating sound from the throat( like honeybee flying). It cures throat, cough , helps in meditation, reduces stress, gives soothing effect over  mind.

KAPAL-BHATI PRANAYAM- In this along inhalation is taken from mouth whereas forceful exhalation is done from nose with pressure while stomach is vibrated in and out. It cures many problems like cold, cough, asthama, digestive problems, obesity etc. It regulates glandular functioning, thus functions properly.
