Down Syndrome in Special Education

   What is Down   Syndrome?  In condition of down syndrome or down's syndrome a baby born with an extra chromosome of their 21st chromosome, it is also known as Trisomy 21.              In child with down syndrome, one of the chromosome doesn't separate properly. The baby ends up with 3 copies or an extra partial copy of chromosome 21 instead of two. This extra chromosome causes problems the brain and physical features to develop. Symptoms at birth time - Babies with down syndrome usually have certain characteristics - a) short neck (b) atypically shaped ears (c) poor muscle tone (d) small head and ears (e) bulging tongue.
